WebOct 3, 2006 · When you put it back together, just make sure the tab in the chrome ring engages into the 6:00 position of the console, then snap the chrome ring back down (once you've tightened the gear shift lever, of course). I don't know how the knob itself comes off the gearshift lever, but once you have it out, it should be easy to figure it out. Good luck.
